On April 30, 2006, Everest Poker held its first live poker tournament in Madrid, Spain. Juan José García from Madrid won the tournament, beating out over 100 players.
“It’s great that Everest Poker takes care of Spanish Players with these kinds of events that have no entry cost empowers new and old players to build a more established poker community in this country,” said Juan José.
This event is the first in a series of live poker events organized by Everest Poker throughout Spain during May and June.

During June, Everest Poker will also hold the Spanish qualifications for the Everest Poker European Championship. Spanish players can compete in live, free poker tournaments to represent Spain in the Everest Poker European Championship finale, a free roll with a €50,000 prize pool. The Everest Poker European Championship (EPEC) is open to all Europeans. The event will consist of a series of free poker tournaments in 7 countries including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, Denmark, and Sweden from March to June 2006. Players from all over Europe can also qualify at free, online satellites at www.everestpoker.com from May to August 2006.
Ultimately, 100 players from throughout Europe will qualify to represent their country in a European Championship finale which will take place at the world famous Casino de Barcelona in Spain on September 9, 2006. The prize pool for this free roll is €50,000 offered by Everest Poker. |
